	Also Known As: BASMATI Product Info: Basmati Rice is a nutty flavored aromatic Rice which is grown in India and Pakistan around the Himalayan foothills, as well as in Iran. It is a long grain, thin, White Rice. Basmati Rice is well known for its fragrance and delightful flavor. Basmati Rice is often served in Indian restaurants and used in Asian cooking. The grains of this Rice cook up separate and fluffy. Basmati is similar to Jasmine Rice. Both have a sweet, nutty flavor, however, Basmati has a much more concentrated flavor. Suggested Use: Basmati can be used whenever a long grain White Rice is needed. It's most often used in South Asian cooking. The nutty flavor and firm texture go well with spicy curries and stir fry. A good choice for stews and soups. Ingredients: Rice. Basic Preparations: Place 1 cup of rice and 1.5 cups of water in a pot with a lid. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand 5 min. Season as desired and fluff with fork before serving. 1 cup dry yields 2.5-3 cups cooked.
